On the PartCycle Marketplace, we offer cost-effective, quality used or recycled Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts, OEM surplus parts, and remanufactured parts from industry-leading professional automotive retailers. But what's the difference in these kinds of parts?
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Parts
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts are parts that have been professionally salvaged from vehicles that are no longer operable. OEM parts have the original fit and function as those that are being replaced.
Because PartCycle sells OEM parts, every part matches the same quality and specifications of the parts currently found on your vehicle. To ensure that the recycled OEM parts they provide meet customer expectations, PartCycle Sellers employ multi-step quality control procedures when dismantling vehicles, harvesting, testing and cleaning parts for resale.

What is a used/recycled OEM part?
A used/recycled OEM part comes from a vehicle that has been dismantled by a professional automotive recycler, and each part is then "harvested" for cleaning, testing and resale. Quality used/recycled parts fit and function meet the exact specifications of your vehicle, and are a effective way for you to get the parts you need, at a fraction of new part cost.
PartCycle assigns each part a grade based on it's condition, mileage, description, and any damage to the part. Our grading system is a clear, easy to understand, Amazon.com-style, condition rating that includes: “Like New,” “Very Good,” or “Good.” We pride ourselves on quality parts, so only listed parts for sale that meet certain quality standards.

What is an OEM surplus part?
An OEM surplus part is a new part that comes directly from the vehicle's original manufacturer. OEM surplus parts meet OEM standards for fit, function and performance, and are fully inspected for quality before being made available for resale.
OEM surplus parts are new, unused/non-recycled parts. But because they are not being sold directly by the manufacturer, they are listed as "Like New" on the PartCycle Marketplace.
What is a Remanufactured part?
A remanufactured part is a used/recycled part that has been rebuilt to the specifications of the original manufacturer. Not all used/recycled parts need to be rebuilt, but in some cases a part may become re-sellable simply by repairing or replacing worn-out or obsolete components.
Just like with used/recycled parts, all remanufactured parts listed on PartCycle.com will match the same quality and specifications of the parts currently found on your vehicle. Depending upon the part's condition once it's been repaired, the part will be listed as “Like New,” “Very Good,” or “Good."
